How Can CenterPointe Behavioral Health System Help Me with My Behavioral Health or Addiction Issues?
CenterPointe Behavioral Health System is a “people” business comprised of compassionate, talented and diverse staff who work together to find the best way to serve our patients and customers. Our treatment programs are a safe haven for our patients and a resource for our communities. We constantly strive to meet the needs of our patients and their families during their time of crisis in a caring and professional environment.
We are proud of our staff and programs at CenterPointe Hospital and we will work diligently every day to earn your trust by providing exceptional service to you or your loved one in times of need, while providing hope and recovery for individuals and families affected by mental illness and addiction. We never lose sight of the fact that we provide care and comfort to people in need.
Psychiatric illnesses are common in our society. In fact, an estimated 61.5 million Americans 18 years and older experience a diagnosable mental illness in a given year. The National Institute of Mental Health indicates that a little more than 20 percent of youth (or one in five), either currently or at some point during their lives, have had a seriously debilitating mental health disorder.
Addiction to alcohol and other drugs is a chronic, progressive and sometimes fatal disease. It causes emotional, physical, financial, employment and social problems that can destroy relationships and ruin lives. Among the 20.2 million adults in the U.S. who experienced a substance use disorder, 50.5%—10.2 million adults—had a co-occurring mental illness.
The good news is that mental health conditions and addictions are treatable. With an opportunity to learn to identify symptoms, develop coping skills and establish alternate behaviors, individuals can live lives of recovery.
The need for mental health or addiction treatment is evident, yet fewer than half of these individuals seek treatment. That is why CenterPointe Behavioral Health System is dedicated to providing access to quality care, comprehensive services in a safe, nurturing environment that is conducive to healing and recovery, and an extensive continuum that offers progressively less-restrictive levels of care as individuals progress through treatment and learn to manage the illnesses that affect their lives.
Those interested in receiving care at a CenterPointe facility can start the admission process by contacting our Assessment and Referral Department at any of our treatment centers. See locations HERE.
Our caring and compassionate assessment staff is available 24/7 to discuss your concerns about mental health or substance use issues, to answer any questions that you or a loved one may have, to provide evaluation and assist with accessing any of our services.
Upon your arrival to one of our treatment centers, you will be greeted by our courteous assessment staff who are available to answer questions you may have about entering our program. Our commitment is to assist you as swiftly and comfortably as possible. Your concerns will be discussed in a private, confidential manner by our empathetic staff. Our thoughtful, highly experienced clinicians will meet with you in a safe and non-judgmental environment to discuss your needs and to determine the most appropriate level of treatment for your individual care.
During the assessment, the following information is obtained:
- Presenting concerns
- Psychiatric history
- Medical history
- Social history
- Past treatment history
This information is then reviewed by our medical and clinical staff and a programming option is recommended for a prospective patient. Once the most appropriate level of care has been determined, all of CenterPointe’s treatment centers strive to make the process of admission as simple and as streamlined as possible. Treatment interventions will be explained, any questions will be answered, and a general overview of what to expect while in treatment will be given.
A level of care will be determined based on your specific needs, strengths and treatment goals. The options for care available include inpatient treatment, residential treatment, partial hospitalization programming and intensive outpatient programming. If you are battling chemical dependency concerns, medication assisted treatment is also available at various treatment centers. Regardless of which level of care you enter, each step of the treatment process will be carried out by expertly-trained professionals who employ evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are designed to help promote positive recovery.
Under the direction of the psychiatrist, and with input from the patient, a multidisciplinary treatment team develops an individualized treatment plan for each patient The treatment team is typically comprised of a psychiatrist, internal medicine physician, advanced practice nurse or physician assistant, a master’s prepared social worker, a therapeutic recreation therapist, psychiatric nurses, certified nurse assistants, dietician and mental health technicians. Together, we provide a clinically sophisticated, safe, supportive and responsive treatment environment.
The treatment regimen is designed to meet your specific needs through a variety of approaches, and may include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, experiential therapies and informational sessions with the sole purpose of helping you achieve success in overcoming challenges in your life.
